1. Introduction
ReceiptLah ("we", "our", or "us") operates the ReceiptLah mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal data when you use our service. We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
2. Data Collection and Storage
Offline-first design: ReceiptLah is designed to work locally first. Receipt images and extracted receipt information are stored on your device unless you explicitly enable cloud backup or sync features.
Personal data we may collect:
- Email address for optional account or support workflows.
- Anonymized usage analytics, such as scan counts and feature usage.
- Device and app information for debugging and service improvement.
- Receipt images and extracted fields, stored locally by default.
3. Data Security
Your receipt data is protected through local-first storage, encryption controls, secure transport where network features are used, and optional device authentication features such as fingerprint or Face ID on supported devices.
4. Use of Data
We use collected data to provide and improve ReceiptLah, deliver service updates, respond to support requests, analyze anonymized product usage, and comply with legal obligations under Malaysian law.
5. Sharing with Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Receipt data is not shared without your consent except where required to comply with legal obligations, protect legal rights, prevent misuse, or enforce our Terms of Service.
6. Cloud Backup
Cloud backup is optional. If enabled, backup and sync behavior depends on the connected service and app settings you choose. You remain responsible for managing access to your own cloud storage account.
7. Data Retention
Receipt records stored locally remain on your device for as long as the app is installed or until you delete them. You can delete receipts individually or clear app data through app settings and device controls.
8. Your Rights
Under the PDPA, you may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent for applicable personal data. Because ReceiptLah is local-first, many actions can be completed directly in the app.
9. Children's Privacy
ReceiptLah is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and may provide in-app notice for material changes.
